How to get to Brännskär?
You can reach Brännskär by ferry from Kirjais or Pärnäs. The ferries operate year-round and are free of charge.
Please note that you must reserve space on the ferry for passengers, pets, and bicycles in advance through the Finferries booking system. Once you create an account and log in to the booking system, you’ll find a route planner that shows detailed daily departure times for the ferries. The departure ports are Kirjais or Pärnäs, and the destination port is Brännskär.

From Kirjais (ferries m/s Falkö & m/s Cheri)
You can take a ferry from Kirjais to Brännskär every day of the week except Saturdays, and
from Brännskär to Kirjais every day of the week.

Arriving to Kirjais Port by car or bicycle
You can enter Österuddintie 29, Nauvo, into your GPS; this will take you to the Kirjais ferry terminal. Guests staying at Brännskär have their own parking area near the port, which is signposted from the main road. Alternatively, you can park your car on the right side of the road in the harbor area; the left side is private. If you have a lot of luggage, it is most convenient to first bring your luggage to the shore by car and then park the car in the parking lot. Please note that you cannot bring a car to Brännskär.
You are welcome to bring your bicycle to Brännskär. You must reserve a place for your bicycle on the ferry between Kirjais and Brännskär. You can do this at the same time as you book your own place for the ferry.
Note: The port of Kirjais is one ferry ride away from the mainland (the Parainen–Nauvo ferry). You do not need to reserve a place on that ferry in advance. You can find the ferry schedules and additional information on the Finferries website.
Getting to Kirjais Port without a car
A local bus runs from Turku to Nauvo year-round. The easiest way to check the schedule is to use Föli’s route planner. Enter your departure point and Nauvo as your destination in the route guide. The bus ride takes about 1.5 hours. You don’t need to buy tickets in advance; you can purchase a ticket from the driver. Payment cards are accepted on the bus.
During the summer season (May–September), you can also reach Nauvo by ferry from the Aura River in Turku. For more information on prices and schedules, visit the Saaristolinjat website.
There is no public transportation from the center of Nauvo to Kirjais, but you can take a taxi from Nauvo to Kirjais Port. The taxi ride from Nauvo takes about 20 minutes. There are several taxi companies in the Nauvo area where you can inquire about prices and book a ride in advance.
Note: On Fridays and Sundays, an on-demand taxi runs between Nauvo and Kirjais, following the schedule of the Falkö ferry. On Fridays, the taxi departs from Nauvo around 17:30 (in time for the 18:00 Falkö ferry) and on Sundays, it departs from Kirjais at 18:00. The on-demand taxi must be booked in advance and costs the same as a bus ride. More information here. From Pärnäs (m/s Cheri)
The ferry runs from Pärnäinen to Brännskär on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and from Brännskär to Pärnäinen on the same days. On other days, there are no ferry services to or from Pärnäinen.

Arriving at Pärnäs ferry terminal by car or bicycle
You can enter “Pärnäs Ferry Terminal, Parainen” as the destination in your navigation system, which will take you to the right place. Please leave your car in the parking lot at the ferry terminal.
You can leave your bicycle at the terminal or take it with you on the ferry. Please remember to reserve a spot on the ferry for your bicycle as well.
Note: Pärnäs is a ferry ride away from the mainland (Parainen–Nauvo ferry). You do not need to reserve a spot on that ferry in advance. You can find the ferry schedule and additional information on the Finferries website.
Arriving at Pärnäs ferry harbour without a car
A local bus runs from Turku to Pärnäinen year-round. The easiest way to check the schedule is to use Föli’s route planner. Enter your departure point and Pärnäinen as your destination in the route planner. The bus ride takes about 2 hours. It’s about 150 meters from the bus stop to the ferry pier. You do not need to buy tickets in advance; you can purchase a ticket from the driver. Payment cards are accepted on the bus.
By Taxiboat
You can also reach Brännskär by taxi boat outside of the regular ferry schedule. The service is operated by the taxi boat company Sjövägen Ab. Please contact the company directly for information on prices and schedules.
